Back from Arizona!

Rhea Rhea is doing awesome! I spent most of the few days I was there telling her to lay down:) She is healing wonderfully and feels better each day. The Dr.s think this might be it for a while. The type of tumor she HAD can only be treated with radiation one time in your life. Dr. Spetzler is confident he removed most if not all of it, so... they just want to monitor her every three months for a while. She will have her official follow up appointment on March 17th so we will hear more detail after that. For now we are so grateful to have the surgery's behind her!

I love hanging out with my sisters! While I was in Az., we had a Bachelor party. No - not that kind! Me, my sisters, my niece and my mama all came over to Rhea-Lynn's to eat Costa Vita (man I wish we had one here!) and have a mini slumber party watching the Bachelor. We ate junk food and laughed until we cried, which is my favorite thing to do with my sissy's!

Rhea Rhea is at home and doing wonderful. I can't wait to go see her! I head out to Az to stay with her for the week. While I am there, I get to go to her Dr. appointmet with her. I will update as soon as I get some more info about the next step she will have to take.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Rachel was so excited for the daddy daughter dance! For those of you that know her, you know what a daddy's girl she is! Her daddy is pretty crazy about her too!

"Rhea-Lynn is out of surgery and recovering right now! No one has seen her yet. We are waiting on the results of a MRI she had done after the surgery, but... Dr. Spetzler feels "hopeful" that he was able to remove ALL of the tumor! THANK YOU, ANGELS!!! More info. as soon as we have some. District Wrestling Meet

We have had quite an exciting wrestling season this year! Preston just participated in our District wrestling final and placed third in the 152 weight class (he weighs 140!!!). It was such an exciting meet and we are so proud of him!!! He will be traveling to Arlington next weekend to participate in the Regional tournament as a first alternate:)

This is the most recent update on Rhea-Lynn written by my sister Jenny. Needless to say we are all pretty concerned about a second surgery(especially Rhea). Please continue to pray for my sweet sister!

Dr. Wilson (a surgeon on Dr. Spetzler's team) came in and spoke to us this morning. He was thrilled with how quickly Rhea-Lynn is healing and recovering. He explained that when Dr. Spetzler removed the tumor that he was very conservative. He removed enough to send off to pathology so they could determine whether or not it was, in deed, a tumor. The pathology results so far, have confirmed that the material removed WAS tumor. It is definitely low-grade (slow growing and small... YAY!). Now that Dr. Spetzler knows for sure what it is, he is most likely going to want to perform another surgery within a month. When Rhea-Rhea originally met with Dr. Spetzler last week, he told us that he "would remove as much as he felt comfortable with". We knew that a second surgery was a possibility. It is fairly routine, and nothing for any of us to panic about. We don't know for sure whether or not she will have that second surgery, but Rhea-Rhea wanted all of you to know that another surgery in the very near future, IS highly likely, in order to remove most, if not all, of the remaining tumor. A team of doctors will meet next Monday to review the results of pathology (they are still observing the tumor sample). The team of doctors will determine from there the next step in her care. She has been up and around today, her and Jeremy even went on a little walk around the hospital courtyard (Whoooo-Hooooo! What a date!). My Mom and Dad are hanging out with her right now. For now, the best thing any of us can do for our sweet Rhea-Rhea is pray for her and LET HER REST. Her phone has been confiscated by Steph, so if you want to leave a message for R-R, do so on this CarePage. She loves to read all the sweet, uplifting notes everyone is leaving her. YEAH!! Dr. Spetzler said the surgery couldn't have gone better for Rhea- Rhea! She is doing good and is already in the ICU. Dr. Spetzler was able to remove most of the tumor (which is called a "low-grade glioma"). It has been sent off to the pathology lab where it will be evaluated. We will get the results (benign or malignant) in a few days. I will post the results as soon as we know. She will be in the ICU for 1-2 days, then in recovery for about 4 more days. This is a huge answer to prayer and I just want to thank everyone who has prayed for her and our family. It was felt by all of us!!
